The application for 2025–26 is now open! Applications are due April 1, 2025.
The Bernard Osher and Crankstart Re-entry Scholarships are awarded to students who are returning or have returned to pursue their education after a break. Awards are based on academic achievement as well as the achievements of individuals in spite of obstacles (financial, personal, familial, or professional).
Eligibility Checklist
- Must have completed at least 12 college credits in advance of fall term 2025
- Must have "stopped out" in pursuit of first bachelor’s degree for a cumulative total of five or more years (can include a break between high school and college)
- Must be working toward a first bachelor’s degree
- Must demonstrate financial need (FAFSA, ORSAA, or equivalent information on file through the UO Financial Aid Office)
- Must demonstrate the potential to succeed in chosen course of study
- Must remain in good academic standing
How to Apply
Current UO Students:
- Log in to the UO Scholarship Dashboard and submit the “General Application” as well as the “Osher and Crankstart Re-Entry Scholarships Application.”
- Your scholarship application must be submitted via the UO Scholarship Dashboard by April 1, 2025.
- Your reference letter must be submitted via the UO Scholarship Dashboard by April 15, 2025.
- You must also submit a FAFSA or ORSAA for the 2025–26 school year.
Incoming Transfer Applicants:
- YOUR FIRST STEP: You must apply for admission to the University of Oregon no later than March 15, 2025, before you can apply for scholarships.
- Watch your email for an invitation to enter the UO Scholarship Dashboard. This happens within a week of submitting your application for admission. You may then submit the “General Application” as well as the “Osher and Crankstart Re-Entry Scholarships Application.”
- Your scholarship application must be submitted via the UO Scholarship Dashboard by April 1, 2025.
- Your reference letter must be submitted via the UO Scholarship Dashboard by April 15, 2025.
- You must also submit a FAFSA or ORSAA for the 2025–26 school year.
